Angle Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy (ARPES) Introduction: The electronic band structure of a material constitutes the macroscopic basis of its physical properties; whether a solid is insulating, semiconducting, metallic, or superconducting, or if the material is transparent, or shows a distinct color, is determined by its electronic structure. 2013-03-06
Therefore, the lower photon energy provided by laser ARPES allows us to make this traditionally surface-sensitive measurement more bulk-sensitive. Our Results Laser ARPES enables us to take high-quality datasets in many systems we have interest in and has been providing important experimental evidence to push forward our understanding of condensed matter physics.
